20.10.2010 and a garden wedding

Don't you all think that 20.10.2010 is such a charming date??..

It is to me :)

Eventhough, it fell on a weekday (Wednesday), don't be surprise cos there are people who still chooses the date to get married or even engaged!! :)

Some people are very particular of their yearly observance date...unlike me, I don't really look at it much, otherwise I would have chosen 10.10.10 to be my special date..hehe

That time (to me), lagi cepat lagi bagus!!!haha..*GATAL MODE*

However a friend came up to me,

"Eh Tahirah, pandai awak pilih date kan? 3rd July 2010 ... 3+7=10"

HAHA.

Never crossed my mind!..

ANYWAY...

A cousin had her akad on 20.10.2010, cum her birthdate too..lucky her! :)

She chose yellow as the theme colour...YELLOW?I love it! It makes the pictures look radiant!!

She had Fad Manaf as the official photographer...

Jealous much?? sweet sangat kan..

Fad Manaf is the kind of a photographer who is getting better and better each day...don't you guys agree?

The coming Saturday, Kak Fairoza had her dream "come true" garden reception..exciting part for me was it was held at Taman Rimba TTDI..(hehe)..and Chenta Weddings was the wedding planner!!!

Everyone had a blast..including me! :)

The reception was set up at the grassy side of Taman Rimba....different from mine, I chose the tarry side cos I was afraid it might rain.

I was wrong then!!
Chenta Wedding had all the marquee tent set up daysssss before the reception..
Although it was raining during the day, the ground didn't get wet/muddy at all!!!..

I don't have to worry I'll stain my caftan or spoil my new sandle..hehe :)

The ambience.....aahhh-so nice! She had hundredssssssss of lantern!!!!!!!

..and chiavari chairsssssss!!!!

Cos I don't get to have it for my wedding, maka duduk la lama2 amik feeling, boleh? ;p

They don't have a classic guestbook like other weddings, but they do have a wishing tree or should I call it a wishing branch ;)

Not only that...Chenta Weddings also provided a photo-booth for those who loooooove to cam-whore...

..especially for the cuzziess :)

Not to forget, the fascinating garden concept dais :)

3 pieces of cute, yummy and colourful macaroons as the doorgift...IRRESISTABLE!!!

The 4-tier cake that I've never dream of for my wedding..cos I know it's expensive..haha.

Pssstt..She even had it for post-nikah reception!!! ;)

We had a Chinese course sit down dinner..

Sedap sampai berebut2..hehe..licin ok, though meja we all tak cukup 10 pax. Hehe.

There are soo many other deco and things which I find really2 interesting...such as the walkways, the aisle, the gazebo, the table centrepiece, etc..unfortunately, I don't have a nice photos to share..even if I do, I'm pretty sure it doesn't bring any justice to Chenta Weddings hardwork!!

Worry not...you can now find them at Facebook. Go visit them for better and clearer picture..and of cos..to drool over their work on weddings!!!...aaaaand don't forget to 'Like' them ok!! :)

To Sarah, it was nice meeting you that night dear. You did a splendid job for Kak Fairoza's dream wedding and I know you gave it all out!!..It must have been more hectic to plan for others wedding than your own..hehe. Congrats again babe!!!

Two thumbs up for Chenta Weddings :) xoxo

Me and Mr Nas

Preparing for wedding can be more stressful than preparing yourself for exams..no?? :)

Every bride-to-be's find difficulties or at least some diffulties in any ways when it comes to approaching/ dealing with vendors..

...vendors did not reply your calls
...vendors replying emails/responded late
...vendors acted snobbish
...vendors looked down on you
...paid the vendors and they turned you down
...promised to follow what you want instead they make what they want

so on and so forth..

I got an email from a blogger friend (you know who you are! :))that encountered the same problem that I faced (of cos with the same vendor). She got stressed out soo she emailed to ask my experiences with the vendor and asked/ needed a little opinion from me.

Her email gave me the urge to pen down my experience with Mr Nas.

Yesss...that famous Nas Great Idea. Who doesn't know him, right?? His overtly grand deco for weddings always came up as a front cover of Ratu Sehari, and they covered a lot of rich and famous weddingsss......his touch never failed to mesmerize us all.

Once..I wanted him BADLY to be part of my wedding team. Considering my might-be-small budget for him, I tried my luck. My first email to him was back in January 2010. I waited patiently for his reply, but to no avail. Then I sent him another few emails hoping for his response. I was very determine to have him as my decorator hence tebalkan muka dgn email countless times.

Finally....oh finally..he replied me!!! Said that he can work within my budget, asked to meet up, bla..bla..bla. Since then, he replied every single email lightning quick.... Alhamdulillah, we've been exchanging e-mails quite often , therefore I got the chance to get to know him as a person :) cheeeewah... It's true what Sabby had mentioned before, he is a very nice, humble and down to earth guy.

Soo, finally we chose a date to meet up @Taman Rimba, where the reception was to be held. Mind you it was not easy to pick a date to meet up considering my frequent night shifts and his busy schedule. The meet up venue was picked by him as it would be easy for him to study the place and planned for the deco...

On the day, I drove back to KL by myself cos husband (then fiancee) was oncall. It wasn't easy for me. Penat kerja, and penat nak drive, and penat traveling (it was an hour journey). Having the thought of seeing Mr Nas in real life, and having the motivation to get my dream wedding, I pushed myself. I had Saleha to accompany me since we gonna meet up at night, plus she stays nearby.

I last texted him a day before the meeting date. I purposely did not remind him on the day itself cos I don't see the purpose of doing so...I assumed that he has his at-least-a-BlackBerry to keep his appoinments with clients or his PA or whatever la to keep him reminded. About an hour waited, he and co was nowhere to be seen...

I decided to call him to know his whereabout cos I don't want to be wasting my time anymore. He picked up the call..

My heart shattered to pieces when he casually answered that he forget about the date!!!!...I felt like crying and cursing him!..but I stayed strong..and kept the tears in check still within the lacrimal glands....Dramatic much??hehe..

Brokenhearted..me and Saleha went to Tutti Frutti, TTDI to cool me down. Basically, she had to bare with my whining at how frustrated I was. Mr Nas did send me a message to apologize, but my husband won't let me reply.. Husband is a very stern man..he didn't see any reason why I should give Nas a second chance when there are other vendors who were more interested to do business with us.. FULL STOP.

Months went by..to be exact 3 months...

I was attending a friend's wedding in Putrajaya when I suddenly received his text,

"Assalamualaikum, apa khabar?"

"W'salam..khabar baik.."

"Jadi ke?"

"Jadi tak??I think it's rather late already. My reception is just a month away. Sorry to say this..You didn't turn up the other day, got me very upset..cos I believe you are very professional Mr Nas..soo, I assumed you are not interested.."

That was part of the messages that I still kept in my phone. The rest as they say was history. Hehe. We went on texting and finally he called me up to say sorry.

Frankly... I could sense that he was being honest and felt guilty of the things that happened. He continuously asked for my apology. He explained to me why mishaps had occured etc2. He also asked about my preparation, who did I hire, and was there anything that he could do to help...too baaaad, everything had been settle. Of cos la kan...I only had one more month to go, kalau tak confirm vendor lagi buat cari nahas je.

Before he hung up the phone, he said sorry again, and to repent for his past wrong-doing, he wanted to sponsor me a flower arrangement for my reception!!!!!!

Can you imagine how fluttered I was when I hear thattttttt????!!!!!

Hahahahaha. Haaaaaaaappppppyyyyy....

But I control ayu ok..."Serious ke ni?"

"Iye. Betul. I ikhlas. Dengan niat, bila I bantu you, business I akan lebih maju"

Ok..nak maju apa lagi?? Memang dah maju gila2 dah..OK, itu dalam hati je ;p

I went back joyfully, and husband was the first person to know. He could not believe it himself..He just reminded me not to be overexcited, cos he did not want to see me being hurt again...echecheche...mcm putus cinta!haha...

Soo..yeah..FINALLY..he kept to his words. A day before the reception, we saw a truck load lorry entered our reception site, and me, knowingly that it was Nas Great Idea's team. He sent about 5-6 people (I can't recall) to set up the main entrance deco...

MashaAllah...it did really help liven up the place.
Eventhough, it might not be the grand deco that NGI has done to other clients, nor did they use fresh flowers, nevertheless, everybody loves the high flower arch...

All I can say is ALHAMDULILLAH!!!!...it's all rezeki. Rezeki for being patience..rezeki for me for staying positive...rezeki for me for not to think bad about him...rezeki for me not to be too judgemental....rezeki for me not to tell the bad things about him to everybody...

After I came back from my honeymoon, me and husband wanted to meet him, to give a token of appreciation. Unfortunately, he was away in Jakarta. Last I heard from him was during Raya when I received Raya greetings from him.

Girls..there are always a glimmer of white in the darkest of dark. Things happen for a reason. Even if you can't see the good side of it now, maybe it's awaiting for us next time around...God works in mysterious ways.

Just enjoy preparing for your wedding...apa jua masalah yang di hadapi, atau bakal dihadapi, anggapla ia sebagai dugaan untuk menguji kesabaran.. :)

EOD

Early Saturday morning Saleha texted me to tell that Taufiq Shariff has passed away due to metastasize brain tumor. I had a shock of my life...it was such a loss to us. I feel glad that I did a review about his talent..and it was such an honour to have him dropped a comment on my entry.

Al Fatihah.

*************************

Due to the long holiday that I took for my Sarawak trip last week, I had to work this weekend to give way for my other colleagues to enjoy their weekend. I had to do EOD (every other day) calls, so does my husband. For those who are not familiar with the terms, it just means that eg: on Friday I'll be on duty from 8am until 8am the next day, get a Saturday off, then will be on duty again on Sunday 8am until 8am the next day, and will continue working 8am to 5pm as usual on Monday. Geddit??

Sometimes, to think about it, it is stressful and tiring. That's the reason why, me and husband will travel back to KL every week, even for only couple of hours. I need my retail therapy and husband needs his pool session, and both of us need a GOOD food :) to de-stress ourselves.

I was oncall on Friday. The next day, we went back to KL no matter how tired we were. Husband dropped me at OU while he went to play pool @ Kota Damansara.

Blamed it on him, to leave me all alone in a shopping mall, I got myself few stuff...

A flat sandle from LEWRE....

A casual top from WAREHOUSE...I couldn't resist, it was love at first sight ;)

It looks lika a caftan and I can wear it both with jeans and kain. How cool...hehe

The SA also showed me this....

..the top is sooooo me, and I love the colour... I didn't buy it cos I don't want to go home hearing someone nagging at me...hehehe ;p

Finally... this one...blame it on Fathiyah and Farah for promoting it to me..haha. Kidding girls! :)

This scrub can also be use as a mask you know. The SA taught me to apply it like how you apply a normal liquid mask and wait for 3 minutes for it to dry up. After that, apply some water to your hands, then lather up to scrub. Wallahhh...2 in 1.

**************************

I was sooo happy with all my purchases today and I had fun spending time with husband eventhough we both felt exhausted.

*************************

On the other hand, I'm pretty sure all of you heard about the 2011 Budget right?..I was ecstatic to hear that maternity leave will be extended to 90 days for government servant. It means more time to bond with your baby..and more time to breastfeed. I don't believe in formula milk, eventhough I know there are times when we need it, and I know it's not easy to maintain exclusive breastfeeding especially for the first 6 months for the baby...

***************************

Ok, enough for today. Time to sleep.

esok oncall...pfftt..

Nite nite.

EL

Holla...

I just got back from Sarawak..had almost a week holidaying at Kuching doing nothing...seriouslyyy!!!

Hubster attended an international conference held by NADI (National Diabetic Institute)boring..hehe while I indulged myself relaxing (no work..best!!!) in the room of 4 different hotels that we stayed around Kuching...I just can't wait to blog about it..soooooo many things that I wanted to share here with soooooo little time :( awwwww......to myself!hehe

We arrived at LCCT last Sunday...with AirAsia..normal lah..everything delayed..flight, baggage, kita dah check in online pon cakap tak check in lagi, etc.. soo, the journey home was a bit hectic plus there was a massive traffic at the highway..I was told that there was an event going on at Sepang Circuit I hardly read newspapers (my bad)...I only reached home at night..padahal flight supposed to be boarding at 155pm. Felt a bit tired to work the next day, hence I decided to take "Emergency Leave".

The next day..terus pegi KLCC...hehe. Husband and I reached a common ground..eventhough we had enough of holiday, but if we didn't hop to a place like KL, it just feels INCOMPLETE!!!!...haha..ngada!

We went jalan2, ended up buying something..(of cos!!!) ;) but this time is not me.

Husband bought a Crumpler bag.....

...and I got the free gift..

..a Crumpler shopping bag...jadilah...janji FOC..it's kinda cute rite?... :)

Big enough to bring to pasar eyy..save the planet poeple!!!

We also went into Harrods. Initially I wanted to try the Afternoon Tea set. After seeing the price, terbeliak jugak biji mata..RM300 for 2pax!!..mahal gila..haha..berangan je!

Instead, I bought their yummy macaroons...

Sedap gila okehhh!!...

They're selling it at RM15 for 6pcs..

Comes in chocolate, blueberry, blackberry and orange flavour...then I bought one each, with 2 extra chocolate flavour...

Semuuuuaaaaa sedap! especially blueberry and blackberry..beyond my expectation!!!!!...tapi tak boleh makan byk2..too sweet, not good for your arteries ;)

The lady at the counter siap cakap "kalau sedap ni, akak jgn lupa promote dekat kawan2 ok :)"

Sooo..here I am ladies..promoting without commision...

Macaroon is a must try delicacy.. I've yet to try at any other store, but I couldn't find it anywhere except from the blogs...

Any recommendations? Do share!! :)

"Khazanah"

A medical student who did practical posting at the hospital I'm currently working in gave me this link.

I was very surprised cos I found this....

...my 'khazanah'!!!

HAHAHA...

It's mine..it's mine!!!

It was written way back in 2006 when I was struggling with my final exam...

The exam that made me what I am today..

Gee...looking back at the "chicken soup for the soul", I can't believe that I wrote that. Tulisan senget2 yang paling tak tahan tu!haha...I just can't imagine how I was able to come out with those words. Hmmmm...was it originally mine or I copied it somewhere???!!..haha..lupa dah.

I was the most demotivated student in my batch.

But I guess it's normal. I do believe that you have your own inspirational words when you were a student last time...plastered it onto the wall, your closet, your mirror, your door, your bed..anywhere easy to be seen, so that you won't slack..

Now that we are working, we don't need that anymore..errrr...wrong!!

We do need it..but now no longer do we write it on a piece of paper..

BUT..not my husband.

He is a very motivated man..(proud of him ;p). Even now, he still have his inspirational words written in a paper, and he kept it in his book, his wallet, and he even have it plastered on the wall...

One of his favourite is.."Gandi proved the world wrong"

Yeah..I kept hearing him repeating it a lot whenever he tries to convince me whenever my action are out of the norm :)

Soo, what's your words of wisdom?? :)
