A Necessity

After months of marriage, finally me and husband bought one of essential needs in a house.....

a washing machine.....

and a dryer...(ye..I'm a lazy bugger!)

The plus point to it, both are 2 in 1!!!

We bought a Samsung Front Load Washer Dryer

I've been persuading my husband to buy one since ages ago (padahal baru je kahwin..hehe) cos it would be easier for me...sending clothes to a laundry shop once a week is not a fun thing to do..

"Will you have time to do the laundry?"
"Wait until we settle down in KL la"
"Why bother yourself??..just send to the laundry shop"
"Why do you want to waste your time handling the laundries?"..

Wasting time, excuse meee???!!sebenarnya dia yang malas kalau kena sidai baju kan!!..(he already admit that to me..haha)

That was part of my husband's 1001 excuses..

Soo, yeah..finally he changed his mind after he sort of realized that sending clothes to the laundry shop every once/twice a week will only be wasting our time (we need to travel about 10mins to get to the quite satisfactory laundry shop), energy (have to drive back and forth-hantar and pick up), aaaaaaaand money (absolutely!!)

The washing machine was a bit pricey, but it's a long term investment..if we can spend thousands on a handbag, why not for necessities kan? ..oh, lagipon Samsung is having a Raya promotion until 30th September whereby they're offering lots of freebies...

We got a grill microwave oven worth RM600+ F.O.C!! (solved my problem of finding one!!)

Months back, our dear Heed, blogged about 'washing machine'..refer to this. At that time, it did not really catch my attention cos I was too obsessed thinking about wedding..Heed wrote about comparison between a top loader and a front loader washing machine..both has their own dis/advantages..we need to know about it before getting ourselves one (SA, they are very helpful also) and of cos, ask from someone with experiences --> our moms (plural ok..jgn lupa MIL ;p )

Now that I am married, I scrolled down her archieve and read the post again..haha...I guess that's normal for us..mula2 excited bout wedding, then we will automatically move on talking about life after marriage..baru la sebok2 nak beli Tupperware lah, pegi Home & Kitchen Ware Department la, rajin pegi IKEA lah, berkejar2 pegi AUSSINO sale la, belajar nama2 ikan la, etc..etc (yes..I'm referring to myself!!..haha)...

Well, I enjoyed every second of it...and I'm enjoying myself in this new phase of life..

Alhamdulillah... :)

our video montage

I've been neglecting my blog, I know.. :)

Raya holiday was just fun, and coming back to work today is no fun :( hehe..

How was your long Raya leave? I had a blast! Alhamdulillah I got to spent my first day of Raya with both sides of families (as our parent's house is just 15mins distance away)...and paling best, I got duit Raya from husband!!..to all the single ladies out there, cepat2 la kahwin!hehe..this type of duit Raya naik tiap2 tahun ok!..haha.. InshaAllah ;p 10 days holiday was just H.E.A.V.E.N. I've been spending it with my loved ones and I'm soo grateful for that, and updating blog was the last thing that I wanna do...hehe

Ok..this just gonna be a short entry

Last entry on my wedding, I did not conclude my 'hilarious' wedding montage (basically a montage that makes me look silly) simply cos I did not know how to upload it!! (ok..you can laugh at me!)

Thanks to Saleha, as the creator of the montage, she uploaded it at her blog

We had it played during the reception while having dinner..and to my surprise (and Saleha), most of the crowd did pay attention to the montage showing, some came forward to the front to get a clearer view of the montage and they seemed to enjoy it!!!!..Alhamdulillah. Kudos to Saleha..She did an excellent job, considering that we shoot the video 2 days before the event!

For those who like to see the montage, click here..(but I would like to warn you first)..do excuse myself in the video..the messiness of my tudung andthe tired face and the panda eyes and the repetitive words and yada..yada..yada!! I was a nervous wreck in front of camera and suddenly became stuttered!..ahhh..malu..malu..but I still wanna share with you all cos I should do justice to Saleha's workmanship, kan Saley? ;)

Terima Kasih Saleha!..muahh..muahhh.. ;p

The Garden Reception (iii) of food and entertainment

Hey..hey..what do you think bout the new look of my blog??..I lurve it! hehe

I promised myself to finish all entries bout my wedding before end of August, tapi semua tak kesampaian...dah basi, tunggu lagi lama lagi basi..but this is for my own keepsake ok..I will still write it

Soo..this time is about food and entertainment..

We had about 800 of people attended the reception..(from both side)..trust me, it was kinda difficult not to have everybody invited..some tertanya2 nape tak ajak..oh well...can't answer that myself..

To cater quite a number of people within the limited space, buffet would be a better choice..mula2 ada terfikir nak buat stall style, but again, the limited spaces doesn't permit me..

Buffet at night can be quite challenging..cos everybody will come at one-go, plus the night of 3rd July tu ada World-cup football match (ARGENTINA vs GERMANY)..lagi la semua nak dtg awal, balik pon awal. Soo, untuk mengelakkan org ramai berebut or beratur panjang2, we offered quite a number of dishes..

From our main caterer, we ordered nasi beriyani (+ nasi putih) with standard lauks..of cos la kena ada nasi beriyani kan. Nama pon wedding melayu..garden wedding ke, hall/hotel wedding ke, ocean wedding ke, tak sah kalau tak de nasi beriyani. Apart from that we also ordered mee/ bihun rebus/ soup, rojak buah, teh tarik, ABC and cendol...me myself tak merasa langsung all those food...soo, can't comment much..(tapi time food testing, nasi beriyani dia mmg sedap..)

What I wanted to promote here was the grilled lamb a.k.a kambing golek. We had it ordered from a guy called Pak Ngah. My family were soo used to him, from my engagement until akikah for my nieces. The baby lamb never failed to melt our tastebud. The meat was very succulent and tender and juicy..perghhh..im salivating right now!! tak caya tanya Kak Wanie and Ashylla sendiri..hehe..

Being the pengantin that night, haruslah tak dapat rasa..We ordered a total of 7 ekor kambing and 40kgs of ayam to make sure everybody can have a portion. Another good thing was, it came with a lot of side dishes such as mushroom soup, boiled veges (carrot, green peas, broccoli, cauliflower, cucumber, tomatoes), garlic bread, mashed potatoes..(and u can add fried rice as an option)... apart from black pepper and mint sauce. Another good thing wassss...the price was very much the same as other caterers who normally offered RM700-850 per kambing but with lesser side dishes..(did my survey beforehand).. MIL initially opted for kambing Al Rawsha, but after she tasted the one from Pak Ngah she asked for the contact number (untuk rujukan masa hadapan!) hehehe......

pictures taken during my engagement

Now comes the dessert...

Apart from ABC, cendol, rojak and whatnot, we have the sweet candies and lollies from the candy buffet...yess..its impossible to provide a candy buffet for all the guests. I know some of you might think that it is ridiculous to have it for a large number of crowd, but to me, this is something new. That's why I want it for my wedding. You may not be able to cater the candies to everyone, but trust me..not all would want it. Some would just want to see what's the commotion all about when they see the hustling and bustling around the table...and that adds to the excitement of the night..hehehe. Some would wanna just take pictures and some would even want to ask Ashylla for her contact after they saw the marvel of her art.. ;)

My sisters also did some baking..my younger sister who is a part time cupcakes maker, did a simple cuppies to be serve to the guests and my eldest sister who is waiting to pop out her 4th kid baked a very yummy chocolate chips cookies...memang sedap that every raya ramai sgt org cari dia nak amik order..trust me, sedap macam Famous Amos!! ;)

the cakestand was from Gateuxlicious

For me, MCs play an important role in a wedding. They are part of the entertainment for the guests. They are important as in they can ramble away while waiting for pengantin to arrive, they can alert the guests when the pengantin's arriving (so everybody will go back to their seat and focus on the pengantin only!!hehe), they can tell you the flow of the programme..plussssss....they can even sing for u!!!!!...just like what my MC did..hehe

I was soo lucky that both my brother and his wife willingly volunteered to be my MC of the night..

..and I was soo lucky that my SIL, who is also a fulltime radio deejay, has a very natural talent to make the crowds laugh. She and my brother gave it all out that night..Alhamdulillah..

Then here comes the band...

...see, ur MC also can play instrument for you!..hehe..

I was just sooooooo damn lucky cos my brother is a musician..and the band that did the performance was his own band. Last time my brother used to be a bassist for a local band called "Pretty Ugly" (dunno wheter u all have heard it before)..however he decided to leave the band and establish his own...they call themselves "Music@11"

The lead singers really serenade all the guests..suara dia mmg sedap gila ok..most of the songs selection they did..and I have no worries at all coz they are soo used to a corporate function and they have also performed for DJ Anne's (Hotfm) wedding..

Initially, me and husband planned something for the guests so that they won't feel bored and participate in the excitement of the night. I didn't want it to be like other weddings where the guests would come, sit, eat then leave...it's as if they were not part of the wedding night. Then came the idea of having a flying paper lantern, whereby the guests and us will be given a paper lantern, together we will light up the fire and we lepaskan ramai2.

Don't u people think that the idea is just awesome???

Sadly..I've been told by a Chinese uncle (who sells paper lanterns @ Petaling Street) that it has been banned by the authority, because they were afraid of mishaps occuring eg; putting a place on fire or burning down Taman Negara..hahaha..just kidding! Then we came up with the next idea (husband's idea sebenarnya ;p)..instead of flying lantern, we release paperboats into a pond (Taman Rimba has a small pond just right at the back of the reception side). Eventually, we had to forego the idea cos it's soo troublesome...

Soo, to replace our dream of having flying paper lantern, we changed it to balloons instead..

We ordered about 150 helium balloons that night...but most if have been taken by all the kiddos around...

We didn't manage to invite the guests with us..since most of our dear friends went back early (cos of the damn football match!hergghhh...)

Ended up, we let go of the balloons just for the sake of taking photos...how sad?!...Luckily my nephew and niece were there to show some excitement..Auntie Yah loves u all!!haha..

Soo, what grand ideas do you all bride-to-be out there have? I know one of our fellow blogger, Zara, plans to dance with her future husband for the first time during her reception...how sweet :)

Dream big, and have fun girls! :)

A Happy Weekend

When the next coming weekend is coming, I baru terhegeh2 nak update my last long weekend.. :)

I love long holidays..who doesn't? especially when you are not oncall, not even passive call...passive call means you can get a call from hospital at anytime to transport patient to another tertiary hospital..benci naik ambulance...PENING!

Soo many things that I did during last weekend..basically doing things that I've been longing for..we hardly had time to enjoy our weekend coz most of the weekends after our wedding we were working...

Apart from waking up late in the morning (walaupon tido at the in laws!haha), first thing that I've managed to settle was getting myself waxed!!!yeah...went Bangsar for waxing and threading while husband went for his Friday prayers...it just felt soo clean after waxing..just imagine how hairy one can be after 2 months.. the last time I did my waxing was right before my wedding...(ok..don't imagine!!!LOL)..

Another thing that got me very excited was my visit to Pavillion..dari before cuti lagi dah banyak kali I ingatkan my husband that I wanted to go Pavillion..macam orang mengidam je..!the last time I went there was early of the year..time sibuk2 cari barang hantaran...

Soo, balik haruslah bukan dengan tangan kosong..haha..bought myself a raya beg...itu lah muslihat nak pegi Pavillion sebenarnya..haha

My first Anya Hindmarch!!!yayyy ;p

I bought a bag inside the strappy bag :)

Been eyeing for the bag for quite sometime now..and coincidentally, they are having Raya sale..weehuuu...apa lagi, sambar la satu!!
All the bags are damn gorgeous people!!..if you're looking for a hantaran, consider their core collection especially Belvedere..from RM4k+ they are selling at RM3k+ !!!and nooo..I did not buy Belvedere :(

Good thing after that I got a Parkson's voucher worth of RM110...soo, tanpa berlengah2, 2 jam sebelum berbuka, I went to the cosmetic department and bought stuff from Benefit. I never bought their products before, but I do like the fun packaging that they're offering and each of their item comes with a name...

I bought a mascara named 'bad gal lash' ( bad girl la sangat..hehe) and a face primer called'that gal'. So far, I love both of them..considering that I don't like to wear a foundation, face primer would be an option...easy to apply and neater finish... For those two I only paid RM110, coz I used all the voucher that I got from buying Anya H..

packing dia macam gam UHU pon ada kan?

Disebabkan terlalu excited nak jalan KL regardless the bad traffic (yess..it was madness!!), we ended up taking the public transport to our next destination

Met my bestie, Sera, with her husband, Azwan, who just came back for umrah..Lucky her to have experienced Ramadhan in the holy ground..We went for iftar at Le Meredian Hotel, next to Hilton KL.

I would say that the buffet they are offering was just soo-soo...the best is still Shangri La..their buffet is just heaven! For RM120 per head, Le Meredian offered an international buffet..soo, wajibla first meal amik segala sushi yang ada and raw oysters for my husband is a must..I can't swallow it at all...but lot of people like it.. it's an acquired taste I guess...

Happy sangat dapat jumpa Sera....lagi best, dapat pulak belated wedding gift from her!!!hehe..

We headed back to my parent's place at around 1130pm...sampai rumah, jumpa org2 tersayangreally makes my day..especially the niece and nephew yg bechok.. :)

Rezeki murah, dapat lagi belated wedding gift dekat rumah..a very cool fruit mixer

The next day..benda yang paling best lagi..bangun lambat. this time at my parent's place..soo, who cares..haha

We also went to play pool..thing that husband been longing for..hari2 dia buka YouTube and watch the games..haha..been ages since we last played together...I started to play pool when me and husband started to date.

He was very excited to teach me back then, we played almost every week @Kota Damansara..me, who had a bad perception bout the game before started to fall in love with it..from knowing zero about it, now I'm able to beat my own husband...

Last day of the weekend, again..bangun lambat..then went to Jusco, OneUtama to do some marketing and spent the rest of the day resting...hibernating..getting ready for the next day back to back oncall..pfftt...

On the other hand, I've also received good news from my OP; the album layout are all ready and ; inshaAllah will be getting the album soon...as soon as before raya!..unfortunately, the supliers are running out of papers. Soo, we gotta wait for another 3-4 weeks...tak pe lah, janji I LOVEEEEE ALL THE LAYOUT....will share with you all later :) btw, qippy has uploaded some of the pictures in his blog ;)

I had a fullfilling weekend!!...full stop.
