Timeless hantaran

Are you girls running out of ideas on how to make your hantaran looks different or unique?

Well..I've got something to share here.. :)

When I got married the other day, my MIL did all the hantaran herself with help from her sister (now is my aunt). It was very simple that you don't have to go thru the hassle like when you use fresh flowers..yet it was classy and timeless

She likes the idea of traditional ways of giving hantaran where last time people used to wrap their gift with kain batik...however my MIL used a songket cloth instead (which you can recycle again or use it as alas dulang)

To me, it's very practical if you're giving a big gift such as shoes, or handbags, or if you want to hide your gift...hehe. I remembered when my brother got married 2 years ago, they have to keep some of their hantaran eg. shoes and jeans in a box cos the elderly wasn't very keen on it (pantang)..soooo, instead of putting it in a box, you can wrap em! ;)'s photo timesss.... :)

I love this the most...she wrapped off the bulkiness of this shoulder bag

very classic indeed..inside is my Roberto Cavalli sunglasses

of cos you can't wrap this sirih junjung :)

..and my mas kahwin, also DeGem :)

instead of dayang, we made those handsome boys to carry the dulang :)

Hope this will give ideas to some of you out there..selamat mencuba! :)

Nikah Details

As promised..

Both husband and I felt glad that we had our nikah done at Masjid has sooooo many beautiful spots to shoot for pictures and we grabbed the opportunities with both hands ..

Earlier before I got engage, I already planned not to have any of my wedding events at home cause I didn't want to trouble my family esp my clear up the house before majlis is one thing and the after-event massive cleaning would be another .. and both are tiring.

Masjid Wilayah has it's own dewan nikah which you don't have to pay for it, and 3 halls..which are
  • Dewan Muslimat - can cater up to 200 ppl at a time (rate: RM55/hr)
  • Dewan Muslimin - can cater up to 550 ppl at a time; and (rate: RM135/hr)
  • Dewan Serbaguna - can cater up to 1500 ppl at a time (rate: RM350/hr)
Soo..we booked one of the hall for our after-nikah casual reception on the afternoon (same day), we had to split our guests list into two..half would be invited for the siang reception and another half for night reception..otherwise, my night reception will turn out worst than pasar malam.. :)

The only problem that I faced with the masjid management was the issue of having to have a pelamin inside the is a larangan masjid to bring in any sort of pelamin, except drapes deco etc for meja beradab..being me ( who always want what I want) I asked MIL to persuad them...lagipon I already paid >50% deposit to my decorater...

Considering myself to be fortunate, finally the management gave in..Alhamdulillah. Lagipon, we convinced them that the pelamin only gonna be used for picture taking and there will be no renjis2 or tepung tawar..

Rental: as above

I choose Tiar Zainal cause I heard that he is good.

Since I had my nikah at 9am, he started working his magic fingers on me right after Subuh..and yea, I had to wake up as early as 5am to get ready...

Like Sue Cantik, he is also very friendly. Tiar is fondly known with his smokey eyes technique..sadly he told me that it will only gonna make me looked old..(oh ya.. I told him that I don't wanna look older than my age, cos i was very frustrated when ppl commented that to me during my engagement)..

With the amount that I've paid him, I'm satisfied with his work...the make up lasted long and not cakey at all. I only washed my face at 5pm and I still looked fresh..

The only thing that I hate for my make over with him was the gigantic sanggul that he made..i should have objected to that. Now when i looked back at my nikah photos, i just find it ugly..surprisingly ramai yg cakap it was ok..hmm..well, it's really subjective

sorry for the quality of the non edited picture
Service charge: RM950

By none than other..the chiffon expert, Syomir Izwa.

Deciding on a designer was quite a tough decision for me..I've been eyeing a few, emailed Zery Zamry for quotation, and even met Rizman Ruzaini..somehow, it just didn't feel right. That was the reason I turned to Syomir..

Final result ----> loved it to the max!

Guess I don't have to write on my experiences working with him..don't think I should reveal it here...... ;p

Price: do email me if you're interested

I decided to have pelamin for nikah a month before the actual date. Since I had it at a mosque, followed by a mini reception, I thought that it would be fair for the guests (to welcome them) as they don't get the chance to see the night reception..

I had difficulty to find a decorater within a tight budget. Kak Wanie from KerjaKahwin not willing to do it cos she wanted to concentrate on the night event..I really like her simple pelamin..sejuk mata memandang and not too sarat

Luckily I found Kak Shaja from Shajaratul Design 2 weeks before my akad..she saved my life!!..with one fruitful meet up, the final outcome was just like the one that I imagined!!..kudos to Kak Shaja, dah la comel..peramah pulak tu :)

Price: RM1500 (very affordable for a one panel pelamin kan!)

What else I can say bout this newbie...they will never disappoint you!!

Thanks to Ashylla and not to forget Mas from whitelacetale.weddings!!!!

I don't have to explain in details on how I wanted my hantaran to be..they can read my mind!!!hahaha.. I just told them I want it to be different and I want to have a bear grass to be part of the flower arrangement..I even asked them to choose the flowers for me..

With the last minute tasks that I've given them plus a full trust, true enuff, they never disappoint me :)

Price: email them and you'll be surprised! :)

Can't talk much cos I got it for free!! was done by my neighbour who has a natural talent for this artsy thingy :)

One thing I regretted was that I only got it done the night before..the next morning the henna didn't really turned into an angry red..but towards the evening, it got better. Well, nobody warned me that applying henna can be quiet long, at least 3-4hrs !!!!..

But...Alhamdulillah..and stop regretting Tahirah!

Got it all settled by my mom, MIL and my aunt.. :) they are very helpful..

We gave out 3 things
  • personalized Asmaul Husna (I did mention about it in my previous entry)
  • 'kacang tumbuk' (sedap sangat!) packed in a box I ordered from ilikecard
  • marshmallows, neatly packed in a plastic with small flower and ribbon (sorry, I don't have pictures of it..but trust me it looked very cute ;))

Price: Box RM1/per unit
TQ tag RM0.30/pc

All in all, I must say that I had a beautiful event at Masjid Wilayah.. :)

I already fixed my plan to go spa today..and I choose Tanamera Spa cos it's nearer (plus I'm not sure of the location of Hammam's new branch in Damansara..hehe)...nways, I fully recommended this place..the lady really 'cuci' me bersih2.. from body massage, scrub and milk bath..they did it very well. I even tried 'tangas', a herbal vapour treatment for ur tutttt... :)

I spent 4 hours being pampered..but boy...I was restless!..counting time to go back je setiap masa sbb teringat2 kerja dekat rumah yg still bertimbun.. unlike my intensive facial last Tuesday, I dozed off sampai tak sedar langsung apa yg the lady tonyoh2 dekat muka ;p exhausted to the max!!

Oh..I was really excited about my signage that I want to share it brother just sent it for printing today..and it cost me about Rm30+ for the printing and eight A3 size papers. Can't do it on A4 size cos it looked small..

tak siap gunting lagi yg dah gunting :)

It's not perfect but I like it soo much..thanks to my brother yg penat melayan his super fussy sister ni.. :)

feeling good

I just had my dinner..yeah it's pretty late. I was rushing from early morning until now. Finally, I have time to myself...I was supposed to be doing table arrangements/seating..but here I am..tetiba terasa nak update this boring blog of mine :)

I had a productive day today..woke up early in the morning (is 9am considered early to u all?..hehe) and went to Jalan TAR with my mom. Went to Tanan in Semua House to survey dulang parents decided to buy our own dulang hantaran cos it can be 'recycle' for my siblings..(5 lagi yg belum kahwin!)..soo, it's worth it to spend eventho it's quite pricey..(ranges from rm120-550/ dulang depending on the type)..but I must say, the quality mmg bagus and the dulang mmg very cantik...

Then we head to Ariani to get tudung yang ada awning tu..this time around (for my wedding) I don't want to wear similar style as my engagement..soo, we singgah Jakel to buy a white matching chiffon to make 2nd layer tudung..(the idea was I don't have to tuck in my tudung inside my dress). Only the tudung with awning will be tuck in to cover my neck, the 2nd layer tudung will act as a normal tudung. It will look biasa, but I'm comfortable with it...

Oh..I met a very generous lady who out of the blue landed me her Ariani's member card...she overheard that I'm getting married this Saturday, soo she offered me her card..sape tak nak babe! dengan muka tak malu, of cos I took her offer..dapat lah 25% discount (saved me rm20+ from the original price) haha...

Normal routine kalau pg Jalan TAR; of cos makan beriyani ayam madu @ Restoran Insaf..soo, after lunch..head back home and then went out again to Bangsar for my waxing. I also did threading for my eyebrow and upperlip...goshhh!!!sakit gila! I got teary eyed when the lady doing it on me..why didn't anyone bagitau I that threading is painful?????yesss..I'm a first timer for threading..normally I just pluck my eyebrow to shape least it's not that painful! sakit for waxing I can tahan, but not for threading.haha. I'll give a second thought to do it again after this.. :)

It was very less than half an hour, I'm done at the saloon..but when I got back.."darn!!I forgot to wax my armpit!!!!!"hahahahahaha...there u go...haishhh...oh ya, I've been planning to try Brazillian waxing, but since I'm having my menses I have to forget about it now...

I also went to check out the Hammam Spa. The prices are quite reasonable and the place looks very cozy..but well, I'm still contemplating between Hammam or Tanamera..hmm, gonna decide later lah...

After Isya, went to fiance's place to shoot a short video for our montage..(semua last minute!) mana tak tension..!!btw, I got my friend to settle all that for me..Gosh, she did a very superb job. She used to do all these multimedia stuff when she studied in Germany last time. Fiance and I are very thankful to her..inshaAllah I'll help her for her don't-know-when-reception, but definitely not on a video montage..

Yeah..that's about it...

On the other hand, I called Sue Cantik just to remind him about this weekend...he asked whether I wanna wear coloured contact lenses or not? I told him that I never wear it before and I'm scared to wear it..Ye lah, mana la tau tiba2 my eyes jadi very sensitive and naik merah2 ke, or gatal2 ke, or ape2 lah yg possible, tak de pangalaman kan...but he persuaded me to buy and convinced me that he'll help me with it...frankly speaking, memang I'm a bit teringin..cos I know it will look nice in the picture, but fiance doesn't allow me. He wanted me to look as natural as possible, he doesn't want me to look fake..but after getting opinions, I decided to buy it..heck it lah!it's my wedding..I wanna look good (at least in the pictures)! haha...jadi derhaka sehari je tak pe kan ;p I feel more excited than stress (compared to yesterday)..pheww..I feel glad, Alhamdulillah..hopefully, I am consistent enuff to update tomorrow :)
